BREAKING: GES Announces Date For 2023 Promotion Examinations

For teachers who have applied for promotion and have been shortlisted, the Ghana Education Service has announced a date for the administration of the promotion aptitude test in 2023.

The selection of candidates for the aptitude test for the promotion ranks of Principal Superintendent, Assistant Director II, Assistant Director I, and Deputy Director has been completed, and preparations are being made to hold the test, according to a circular from the Director General of the Ghana Education Service.

New Date for GES 2023 Promotion examinations

The notice also specifies that all regions of the country will administer the aptitude test simultaneously on February 28 and March 1 of 2023, as proposed by the management of the Ghana Education Service.

The Service further stated that all short-listed candidates will be informed of the Index numbers, Regional centers, and other crucial details necessary for the smooth operation of the promotion aptitude test via the Regional Directorates.

What You Should Know

Annual promotion exams are held within the Ghana Education Service to allow employees to advance from one rank to another.

The promotion exam will be held this year for teachers wishing to advance to the following positions;

1. Principal Superintendent

2. Assistant Director II

3. Assistant Director I

4.  Deputy Director
