Fight breaks in ‘trotro’ after pastor refuses to stop preaching [VIDEO]
In a recent viral video shared by EDHUB, a heated altercation unfolded in a ‘trotro,’ a public transport vehicle in Ghana, when a passenger confronted a pastor for preaching during the commute.
Despite the laws of Ghana explicitly prohibiting preaching and other forms of nuisance in trotro, it has become a common occurrence for pastors and vendors to address passengers during their journeys. However, this particular incident took a dramatic turn as a man in his 30s passionately preached about repentance.

The video captures the moment when a fellow passenger, visibly agitated, confronted the preacher, demanding him to stop and accusing him of disturbing the peace in the trotro. In Twi, the frustrated passenger is heard saying, “Brother, close the Bible; you are making noise… Masa, you are making noise, shut up. We need peace.”
The tense situation escalated as the irritated passenger aggressively closed the preacher’s Bible. Undeterred, the pastor insisted on continuing to spread the word of God, sparking a lively debate within the ‘trotro.’
A woman in support of the pastor argued, “Drivers also play profane music, making all kinds of noise, do you stop them?” highlighting the inconsistency in enforcing rules against disturbances in public transport.

The incident raises concerns about the enforcement of regulations, as the Prohibition of Nuisance In a trotro, Regulation 116 of L. I 2180/2012, explicitly states that preaching in ‘trotros’ is a crime. The regulation prohibits any form of noise-making, including preaching, hawking, or other disturbances, while the vehicle is in motion.
As the video circulates on social media, it prompts a broader discussion on the need for stricter enforcement of laws to ensure a peaceful and regulated commuting experience for all passengers.
