The government of Ghana has denied students admission into Colleges of Education reduced through quota system for The 2022/2023 Academic Year.
This was indicated in a letter from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to all public Colleges of Education in the country.
What this means is that, many Free SHS who applied for admission into CoE and met the admission requirements as announced will be denied admission once each college reaches its allowed threshold indicated in the letter.
If your results you used to apply for admission were good, but you have not yet gained admission, the above may be one of the major reasons.
The letter dates 16th December 2022 directed to the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) stated that each CoE has been assigned a permissible figure for entry into level 100 for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The letter further indicated that, the allocations made to the colleges cannot be varied and must be strictly adhered to.
The payment of Feeding Grants and Trainees Allowance will be guided by the number approved by the GTEC for colleges.
The above directives are also to ensure that government is able to provide the needed financial resources for a limited number of students enrolled into the 4-year degree programmes of the CoEs.
