ICFJ Douglas Tweedale Memorial Fellowship 2023
Over time, reporters have honed their investigative journalism abilities thanks to the ICFJ Douglas Tweedale Memorial Fellowship. Some past participants have concentrated on improving their reporting skills in areas such as immigration, the environment, science and technology, or business.
In 2023, ICFJ is excited to carry on the tradition of this program, offering training and guidance to Latin American journalists with a specific focus on fact-checking and the adoption of effective strategies for combating misinformation.
This fellowship will empower journalists in the region to elevate their expertise and acquire practical insights that they can put to use in their respective newsrooms.
The program is conducted biennially, and this year, it will commence with a webinar centered on disinformation and best practices for fact-checking.
Following the webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to apply for an in-person study tour and a three-week newsroom attachment in the United States. Two fellows will be chosen for this opportunity.
