Most meals in Ghana have pepper as its key ingredient. The presence of pepper in a meal such as Kenkey, waakye, shito adds to its taste and the absence could make the meal feel bland, even though other spices may have been used. Many people add just enough pepper to give flavour to the food, but some others like their foods extra spicy, and would add lots of pepper to their cooking.
