A University of Ghana student who fell from the 4th floor of Mensah Sarbah Hall this morning is in critical condition.

Reports indicate he fell after he slipped while attempting to move from his balcony to the balcony of the adjacent room.
Wahab Abdulai, the victim, is a National Service person resident in the hall. The sad incident took place around 2 am on 23rd April, 2021 according to eyewitness accounts.

As of the time of this publication, it has not been established what accounted for the risky move he took.
He sustained severe injuries on the legs and hands. He is to be transferred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
Students have been asked to stay calm as the health officers deal with the situation. The Dean of Students at the University of Ghana (UG), Prof. Godfred Alufar Bokpin, has said the police will investigate the matter.

“I will urge every student to be calm. There should be no panic because the situation is under control.
The issue is being investigated, the police and hall authorities are all involved and trying to get to the bottom of it,” he said.
