ken ofori-atta

Joe Jackson, a financial analyst at Dalex Finance, says that getting rid of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, won’t fix Ghana’s economic problems.

He says that real change won’t happen until the whole way the economy is run and the policies that aren’t working are looked at again.

In an interview on Accra’s TV3, Mr. Jackson said, “The most important thing we can do right now is cut the size of government to show that we are all ready to face our problems.”

“We want to give notice, and notice is given here, that until these people resign or are removed from office, members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament will not take part in any government business done by the president or any other minister,” said Andy Appiah-Kubi, MP for Asante-Akyem North, who is the leader of the group.

During a later meeting with President Akufo-Addo, it came out that he had been asking for some time for his ministers who were in trouble, especially since Ghana is negotiating a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and putting together the budget for 2023.
