SAD: AAMUSTED Level 300 Student Dies While Performing Rituals On Campus
Students of Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development(AAMUSTED) were hit with sad news on Friday following the dead one of their students. The deceased, Prosper Owusu, popularly known as Arrested died after catching fire during a ritual.
Prosper Owusu, who served as Chief Priest for the Opoku Ware Hall in the University, was carrying out a fire ritual during a gathering at the campus when something went wrong. This happened on 25th August, 2023.

In video available online of the incident, Owusu’s whole body caught on fire and he could be seen running around searching for something to extinguish the flames to no avail.
He was rushed to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment. He was however pronounced dead on Friday, 1st September, 2023.

Management of Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development(AAMUSTED) have released a statement following the dead of the students. The university sent their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Management has also cautioned students to avoid activities that predispose them to risks and other dire consequences.
“Mr. Prosper Owusu, a third-year Mathematics Student of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), was among some students of the Opoku Ware |l Hall, who were allegedly performing some activities in the Hall, on Friday, August 25, 2023. Prosper got injured and was sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) immediately for medical attention. He was reported dead on September 1, 2023. The issues surrounding the incident at the Hall are being investigated. Management will give further updates. Meanwhile, students have been cautioned to avoid activities that predispose them to risks and other dire consequences. The University extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, students, and friends of the late Prosper Owusu. May his soul rest in peace. Thank you.”
