Frances Essiam, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, has issued a strong caution to NPP flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, about actions that could damage the party’s reputation. She made it clear to Kennedy Agyapong that she and other members of the NPP will give him a showdown if he disturbs the party’s image.

During an interview on Wontumi TV on October 25, 2023, she emphasized that Kennedy’s statements could negatively impact the party’s image and therefore urged him to show restraint. She warned that a failure to do so could lead to a direct confrontation.

She also advised those around Kennedy Agyapong to refrain from spreading misinformation to him, saying, “Akompreko, I am telling you, you are my younger sibling, if you open your mouth again and you do not seek the interest of the party… and those who have been speaking lies to him should be very careful because we know them,” said Essiam.

Additionally, Essiam called on party members to take an active role in monitoring and holding flagbearer hopefuls accountable for their public statements to ensure that these statements do not harm the party’s image.

She added, “So, he should cool down, and I am telling Akompreko that I am a strong-willed woman like him, and I am capable of engaging in a showdown like him, so I urge him not to provoke a confrontation with people like us. I am urging the party foot soldiers that regardless of the camp that you belong to, any candidate who makes statements that could harm the party’s image will face consequences. … Honorable Akompreko, you are responsible for what comes out from your camp, just as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is responsible for anything from his camp. However, the intensity of the situation in one camp is higher than the other.”

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will contest for the flagbearership slot of the NPP along with three other contenders including Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has slated November 4, 2023, to elect a successor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as leader of the party. Kennedy Agyapong and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are the key favorites to win the election on November, 4, 2023.

Per the demands of the Constitution of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah cannot contest again. With this, it is therefore prudent for the New Patriotic Party to elect a candidate who will be the presidential candidate of the party for the 2024 general elections.

The contest is here, and the NPP primaries have been scheduled to take place on November 4, 2024.

The tough contest for the NPP’s presidential primaries is between Honourable Kennedy Agyapong and His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the current vice president of the Republic of Ghana.

Honourable Kennedy Agyapong disclosed that the camp of Dr. Bawumia was sharing a huge amount of money to delegates in the Central Region of Ghana.

Kennedy Agyapong furthered that, one of the Chairmen in the Central Region has received a brand new Navara pickup all in the name of going to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Aside from these allegations from Honorable Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is busy with his campaign in other parts of the country so that he can secure more votes from the NPP delegates in the pending elections.

” I have the evidence and I don’t speak without providing the relevant data. Others are receiving over 100 million Ghana cedis. I am urging all delegates to also demand the same amount and vote for them. However, if they are not able to share that exact amount with every delegate, then don’t vote for them. NPP flagbearer hopeful, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong, has revealed the kind of salary his personal driver takes every month as compared to what NABCO personnel take each month

In an interview on Skyy Power FM 93.5, Kennedy Agyapong descended on government for paying just ¢700 to university graduates under the defunct Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) scheme. According to Kennedy Agyapong, his personal driver, who is not a university graduate takes home ¢5,000 every month as salary. He added that NABCO personnel, who are all tertiary graduates are being paid just ¢700 as monthly salary. He believes that it is shame on the part of government.

Kennedy Agyapong sent a clear signal to the government to stop the jubilation of creating 100,000 jobs when each worker earns only ¢700.

“Delegates should not make mistake by voting for anyone else but him. The jobs I am about to create in Ghana is permanent. It is not NABCO. The jobs I am about to create in Ghana, it is not NABCO. Even my driver, I pay him ¢5,000 a month, and someone who has completed university, you pay him ¢700 and you said you have created job for the person and for that we should clap for the person. It is a shame.” he said.

He added that he is going to create several factories in Ghana that will pay huge hums of money as salary to workers.

Kennedy Agyapong added that he has created several jobs in Ghana and has employed over 7,000 workers nationwide. When he is given the mantle as the president of Ghana, he will create a lot of jobs in the country and reduce unemployment drastically.
