2024/2025 NSS Batch To Use Ghana Pay Instead of Ezwich

News coming in indicates that the 2024/2025 NSS Batch will no longer use Ezwich to receive their monthly allowance. According to report, NSS allowance will now be paid  on Ghana Pay.

National Service Secretariat together with the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement System limited are yet to conclude on this new initiative. They are yet to approve or go ahead with the Ezwich payment method.

NSS personnel serving in private institutions, a GHANA PAY account will not be required. Private companies have the flexibility to pay allowances through various methods such as mobile money (MoMo), counter-cheque, bank account, physical cash, or any other preferred payment medium.

What Is Ghana Pay?

GhanaPay is a mobile money service provided by universal banks, rural banks, and savings and loans companies to individuals and businesses. It is like any mobile money service, but with additional banking services designed for your financial freedom.

Everyone with access to a mobile phone, can register for a GhanaPay Wallet, with or without a bank account

How To Register For Ghana Pay

You can register for a GhanaPay mobile money wallet in one of 3 ways:

  • Option 1: SELF REGISTRATION – Dial *707# or download the GhanaPay App from Google or Apple store. Enter information about yourself and, select a bank you wish to own a wallet with. Walk into a branch of the bank you selected to validate your Ghana Card to complete registration. You will receive an SMS to confirm your registration.
  • Option 2: BANK BRANCH – Walk into any bank branch of your choice. Ask to be registered for a GhanaPay mobile money wallet. Provide your personal details along with your Ghana Card. When the process is completed, you will receive an SMS to confirm your registration.
  • Option 3: DESIGNATED AGENT (LOCATION) – You can go to specially designated GhanaPay Agents to register for a GhanaPay mobile money wallet with a valid Ghana card, just like in a bank branch

Where To Withdraw Money From Ghana Pay

You can put cash into your wallet, take cash out of your wallet or redeem a token at any bank branch or designated GhanaPay agents (same Ezwich agents or offices).

The Ghana National Service Scheme NSS drops a letter to the public directed to all NSS personnel in the country. That is the NSS Message to personnel in Ghana. The letter talks about how the remaining arrears would be paid to all National Service Personnel in the country and how they expect them (National Service Personnel) to exercise patience as they process all their monies to be paid.

The letter from the National Service Scheme also appreciated the good works of all the National Service personnel for their dedication, support,  and patriotism for the country.  Check the letter from NSS below

“Update on the national service personnel allowance. Management of the national service scheme has taken notice of concerns expressed by the National service personnel regarding their unpaid allowances for September and arrears covering January to June 2023 from the recent upward adjustments of their monthly allowance.

Management wishes to assure service personnel that the allowance for September 2023 has been released to the scheme and is being processed for payment as soon as possible.

Management further wishes to assure service personnel for October and the arrears are all being processed and will be paid soon after payment of the September Allowance.

All service personnel are therefore encouraged to exercise restraint as the national financial process is being adhered to for all their well-deserved allowance to be paid.

Management commends the patience of all service personnel in the face of the challenges they have experienced serving their country.

Management wishes all national service personnel as they complete their one-year mandatory national service to the state at the end of October 2023″.
