In the second Quarterfinal contest of the 2023 NSMQ, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem silenced St. James Sem, Presby SHTS for a spot in the 2023NSMQ Semi-Final. The joined the likes of Opoku Ware SHS who won their contest earlier in the day.
A trend is emerging in the contest at the quarter-finals, so far the last three schools that have made it to the Semis, won the first round of the contest.
Pope John SHS cruised to a good start when they took the lead in round 1 and maintained it to the end of the contest although St. James Sem. SHS gave them a good fight.

Pope John SHS Qualifies for the 2023 NSMQ Semi-Final spot after ending the contest in the 5th round with 48 points.
In the next Quarter Final contest, Prempeh College will face Mawuli School and Abefiti Presby SHTS.
To conclude the Quarter-final Stage competitions on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, St. Augustine’s College, 2022 Semi-finalists, will compete against the current highest scorer in the NSMQ 2023 competition, Keta SHTS, and Tamale SHS.
Following suit, Kumasi Sec. Tech. will seek a Semifinal spot against two-time champions Mfantsipim School and Yilo Krobo SHS.
Wrapping up the Quarterfinal Stage Competitions, Presec, Legon, the most successful school in NSMQ history, will vie for an eighth title against Accra Academy and GSTS.
