In a related development, the Vice President during the launch of the one teacher one laptop policy in Accra in the last quarter of 2021 informed the chalk fraternity that teachers would not have to write lesson plans as a result of the conscious effort of the government to digitize Education delivery in Ghana.

Thus teachers who download the Basic 7 Weekly Lesson Plans would not need to copy them into lesson notebooks.

It must be indicated that the use of scripted lessons at the pre-tertiary level has benefits worth knowing.

First of all, it ensures uniformity of lessons across the country per class since teachers are using the same lesson plan, knowledge, ideas, and objectives as captured in the lessons. Teachers therefore can be sure that, once they teach a lesson, their students just like others at the same level have been empowered with the same knowledge.

It also makes the work of the teacher less stressful. Teachers have to download and study the Basic 7 Weekly Lesson Plans and teach their learners. This does not imply that teachers do not have to bring onboard their own experience or add to the knowledge and examples provided. The lessons, therefore, provide the essential foundation for each teacher.
