Dollar to Cedi Exchange Rate Galloping to $1 to GHS14.00
As the cedi continues to depreciate against major currencies, the dollar-to-cedi exchange rate is also galloping towards $1 to GHS14.00. On April 9th, 2024, we published this post: “Dollar-Cedi Rates Out For Today: Likely To Hit GHS14/$ Before End Of April.”
In that publication, we stated that “the Ghana Cedi continues to depreciate against the dollar daily, and with the dollar selling at GHS13.60 in forex bureaus, the Cedi is likely to crumble to $1 to GHS14.00 by the end of the month.”
It is 10 days away from the end of the month, and the exchange rate is just 10 pesos shy of the GHS14.00 predicted.
Today, April 20, the dollar is selling for GHS13.90, while forex bureaus are quoting a buying rate of GHS13.65.
One easy way to tell the direction of the dollar-to-cedi exchange rate is to look at the fuel price per litre quoted by the likes of Goil and Total Energy. This basic check gives a good indication of where the exchange rates will be headed.
