HISTORY
On July 20, 1948, St. Augustine’s College and Mfantsipim School teachers who had been fired went to work at Ghana National College.
Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, used his own money to start the college for eight students who had been kicked out of St. Augustine’s College by the British colonial government. The expulsion happened because there was a protest march for Nkrumah, who was then put in jail.
