The 2026 BECE Creative Arts Marking Scheme being used for the ongoing marking of scripts is now available for download on this portal following its release by WAEC.
The Creative Arts Marking Scheme available does not include paper 1. (objective test) answers. It only covers the section B of the examination.
Important facts and information about the 2026 BECE Creative Arts Marking Scheme
- For each question, WAEC has provide more possible answers for examiners to consider in grading candidates.
- Examiners have also studied the scheme and updated it with more answers in ink where necessary.
- The marking scheme was approved for the purpose of marking the 2026 BECE on May 15th, 2026, by the senior examination officers.

How to use the BECE Creative Arts Marking Scheme
- Students who sat the examination can use this to cross-check their answers. While they may not have their exact answers with them, they should be able to recall some of the answers they wrote and match them with the scheme. This will give them a relatively fair idea as to how well they are likely to perform.
- Teachers of the subject can also use the marking scheme to help their next batch of students who will take the examination next year.
- Schools can keep these resources (all marking schemes) in their digital folders for reference purposes as well.
