There is no basis to sack Ofori-Atta – Akufo-Addo
He says that Ken Ofori-Atta has done his job “excellently” and that he cannot fire someone who has done so well.
On Monday, President Akufo-Addo told OTEC FM that he has full faith in the Minister, who is also his cousin.

“An average growth rate of 7 percent, which let us start programs like Planting for Food and Jobs. So, someone who has done that before. He is not to blame for the problems he is having now. So how do I do it (sack him)? Where will you start? What will the point be?”
So, President Akufo-Addo said it was not fair for people to ask him to fire the Minister.
“If we say he didn’t do well in the first term, why did I choose him again for the second? So, I thought he did a great job the first time I saw him. I’d like to use this word. “Great,” he said.

Due to the bad state of the Ghanaian economy, some people have asked the President to take the Minister’s job away from him.
Ghana is asking for help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to keep the economy going, but President Akufo Addo says he will keep the Finance Minister even though things look bad.
The Ghanaian cedi, on the other hand, was worth 12 to $1 in many places on Friday, and it sold for 12.10 at most exchange bureaus and retail markets.
This happens about a week after the value of the cedi fell against the dollar.
Hundreds of Ghanaians have taken to social media to complain about the situation and urge the government to act quickly to stop the currency from falling in value.
