When Did Michael Jackson Die? Truth Finally Revealed
When did the ‘King of Pop’, Michael Jackson actually die? Many keep asking when he actually died. Stay with us as we take you through the course of your life and last days on earth.
The most-awarded musician in history was discovered dead in his Los Angeles home on June 25, 2009.
Michael Jackson’s death at the age of 50 shocked fans all over the world.
The singer, who had been preparing his “This Is It” tour, was set to begin his tour in London the following month.
His death was so widely publicized that some prominent figures complained that it diverted attention away from other pressing global issues.
What Actually Happened On June 25, 2009?
Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal physician, discovered him unconscious two minutes after administering sleep medications to him on June 25.
He stated that the singer was no longer breathing and had a weak pulse.
He began administering CPR around 10:42 a.m., while security dialed 911.
He tried to resuscitate Jackson for about ten minutes. Paramedics continued to treat the musician at his home for another 42 minutes.
He was then taken to the hospital around 1:14 p.m., where medical personnel continued resuscitation efforts for more than an hour.
Despite these efforts, Jackson died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center at 2:26 p.m.
Jackson’s Health
There have been conflicting reports about the singer’s health up until his death. Several biographers claimed that he was in poor health in his final months, suffering from insomnia, lupus, vitiligo, and low body weight; they also claimed that his family was concerned about his health and urged him to seek medical attention.
One biographer stated that Jackson had previously struggled with prescription pain medication addiction, which was confirmed by his dermatologist.
However, one medical professional stated that he saw the musician several days before his death and that the singer appeared to be mentally and physically strong at the time.
Members of his stage crew who saw him the day before his death at a rehearsal said he appeared healthy and full of energy. The rehearsals lasted until after midnight when Jackson spent time with fans outside his home. He didn’t start complaining about insomnia until late at night.
The singer contacted Dr. Murray in the early hours of June 25 and was given a cocktail of drugs to induce sleep. When multiple injections failed to help Jackson fall asleep, he allegedly requested propofol more than once.
He had previously used the drug as a sleep aid. He hadn’t fallen asleep by 10:40 a.m., so Dr. Murray gave him propofol diluted with lidocaine.
The Autopsy Report (Was He Murdered?)
Investigators discovered a number of red flags during Jackson’s autopsy. He had been given antianxiety benzodiazepines (including midazolam and lorazepam) as well as propofol.
This combination, along with diazepam and Ativan doses, proved fatal. Dr. Murray had also given the singer several drug injections to help him sleep.
Aside from that, Jackson received a clean bill of health. His heart was in good shape, and his only serious condition was an insignificant chronic lung inflammation.
He was a healthy weight, his lungs were healthy, and his arteries were free of plaque except for a minor accumulation in one leg.
On August 28, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled that Jackson’s death was a homicide.
He was killed by a combination of drugs, most notably propofol and lorazepam. Diazepam, midazolam, ephedrine, and lidocaine all played a role. The full toxicology report was kept confidential.
