The Facebook Fellowship Program is now accepting applications from PhD candidates worldwide who are enrolled in a recognized university in any nation. International and domestic applicants are also welcome to apply for the Facebook program. This PhD candidates scholarship can be accessed by students across the world.

The Program is intended to promote and assist talented PhD students who are conducting novel and relevant research in computer science and engineering.

Eligibility For The Facebook Fellowship Program for International Students

The PhD candidates scholarship requirements are as follows

International and domestic applicants can apply for these facebook awards.
Full-time Ph.D. holders who are currently involved in ongoing research who are enrolled in an accredited university in any country
Candidates work must be related to one or more relevant disciplines (see research areas below)
Applicants must be enrolled during the academic year(s) the grants are awarded
First or second-year PhD holders who fit the criteria of a minority group that is under-represented* in the technology sector have the option of being evaluated for an Emerging Scholar Award.
Applications will be accepted from pupils with research related to one of the following areas:
Applied Statistics, AR/VR Photonics and Optics, CommAI, Computational Social Science, Computer Vision, Computer Storage and Efficiency, Distributed Systems, Economics and Computation, Hardware and Software Infrastructure for Machine Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Networking and Connectivity, Programming Languages, Security/Privacy, Spoken Language Processing and Audio Classification and UX/Instagram.

Application Procedure for the PhD candidates scholarship:

How to Apply: To apply, all candidates must have a Facebook account. Applicants will be issued an email with a link to submit their letter once they enter their reference contact email. Once they have submitted their application, the application page will display a “Received” notice underneath their name. If necessary, applicants can resend the reminder email to their references from the application website.
Supporting Documents: Applications must contain a 500-word research brief, a résumé or CV, email, phone, and mailing addresses, relevant courses, and two letters of recommendation.
Admission Requirements: To apply for the program applicants must have a previous degree.
Language Requirement: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Winners will get two years of tuition and fees covered, as well as a $42,000 yearly stipend to cover living and conference travel expenses.

Facebook Fellowship Award Includes:

- Tuition and fees will be paid for the academic year (up to two years/four semesters)
- $37K grant (one-time payment during each academic year)
- Up to $5,000 in conference travel support
- Paid visit to Facebook headquarters to for the annual Fellowship Summit
