Mahama won’t make the mistake of allowing dangerous Asiedu Nketiah be his running mate – Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has voiced a strong caution to former President John Dramani Mahama against choosing National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, as his running mate for the 2024 elections.
Koku Anyidoho described Asiedu Nketiah as a “dangerous” individual and strongly discouraged the former president from considering him as a running mate, asserting that such a decision would guarantee the NDC’s defeat in the upcoming election.

“Let John Mahama make a HUGE political miscalculation again, as he is wont to do, and dare to allow Mosquito to mislead him, he will make ignoble history as the first one-term President to have lost two other elections in a disastrous manner,” Koku stated in one of the tweets.

As of now, former President Mahama has not selected a running mate after being elected as the flagbearer of the opposition party in May. There is a debate within the party about whether to maintain the previous running mate, Madam Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, or select a new running mate for the 2024 elections.
Meanwhile, Asiedu Nketiah has expressed his willingness to be Mahama’s running mate if chosen by the former president. However, Koku Anyidoho’s strong opposition to this possibility suggests that internal party dynamics and strategies will play a pivotal role in shaping the NDC’s approach to the upcoming elections. The outcome remains uncertain as the party navigates these important decisions in the lead-up to the 2024 polls.
