The Ghanaeducation.org team has released for download all 2026 BECE marking schemes for the subjects administered by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in the BECE. The BECE was written by over 600,000 candidates from 4th May to 11th May, 2026.
The marking of the examination started on 21st May and is expected to end by the end of June, 2026, while results are expected before the end of July, 2026. The result checkers for the BECE and WASSCE can be bought here. With the GES announcing the first-year students will report to school on 18th September, 2026, WAEC is expected to release the results ahead of them to pave the way for school selection and placement release.

The 2026 BECE marking schemes WAEC examiners are using to mark the scripts have been shared below for the respective subjects. All marking schemes provided are the Section B or paper two schemes. Each scheme has been reviewed by WAEC’s subject chief examiners, and necessary corrections and additional points have been added to ensure no student who provides a correct answer to a given question is disadvantaged in any way.
